About BuzzerQuiz
BuzzerQuiz is a not-for-profit volunteer group that runs quiz tournaments and writes questions.
The quizzes in which BQ specialises are, predictably, "buzzer quizzes". The best-known buzzer quiz in the UK is University Challenge, which is in turn based on the US game College Bowl. The starter-and-bonus format has become a well-loved quiz format, and it's the one that BQ uses for the majority of its games. We don't just do Paxman's favourite academic stuff, though: we also do "trash", which is mainly pop culture, pop music and sport.

BuzzerQuiz members
The BQ members are all unpaid volunteers who write questions, run tournaments and generally keep BQ on track. Being a member doesn't necessarily stop them from entering BQ events, unless they've written some of the questions (which would be a tad unfair).
