Oxford University

Five British student championships, 13 University Challenge titles, and a permanent grip on the Varsity trophy: Oxford must be doing something right. The Oxford Inter-Collegiate Quiz has been running since 1985, and each February sees over 30 teams playing around 70 matches. Meanwhile, when they set aside college rivalries for the University team, they constitute one of the most active and successful sides in the game.

In this section, you'll find results and reports from the University's various tournaments and friendly matches, suitably backdated into the archives where necessary! Remember, though, to check the Scoreboard in the Results & Reports section for the fastest scores during tournaments.

Town v Gown: the wisdom of years

There must be something in the water in Oxford. The student squad is noted for its consistent strength every year, but on Friday night in Christ Church they met their match in two teams from the very same city. A team representing the staff of the Bodleian Library hammered a student squad side, before the Town v Gown contest was decided on the very last starter in a game with very few errors.
